Kobayashi transitioned into painting and graphic design after a career as a fashion designer. A self-taught artist, her work includes art layouts for several magazines, a wrapping bus design for St. Grande, interior design work for restaurants in both Tokyo and Los Angeles, and advertising campaigns for major brands such as Marui and Isetan. Most recently, she has created popular designs for fashion brand Applebum.
